HOUSING HIRSCHSTETTNER STRASSE
The urban connection to the environment was the first important consideration for the project. Three gates form the basis of a fluent structure and identity.
The connection to human scale is created by dividing the building into three parts, as the existing building would otherwise appear too long. Two common areas are created between the elements. These common areas are connected on several levels through void spaces and terraces. These are flexible spaces, centrally located and easily accessible from the staircases.
The idea of human scale has also influenced the horizontal façade structure. The building is divided into three horizontal zones with different outdoor relations and materials. From this, diverse apartment typologies and greening concepts have developed at the same time.
The upper two floors and the attic zone consist of apartments with terraces and trees.
The middle two floors comprise apartments with individual balconies and planters.
The two lower floors and the slightly recessed base zone are apartments defined by individual garden plots and long balconies with vertical greenery.
