HOUSING MÜHLGRUND II
The competition’s theme was „cost-effective housing“ which was addressed both by the construction method and the sustainability. The urban design principle is to avoid building bulky housing blocks but to achieve the high density permitted by zoning ordinance via seven urban mansions in response to the heterogeneous settlement character of the surrounding environment in order to offer an adequate „informal“ appearing development.
Facades, floorplans and public space are based on a clear organisational principle, which is translated in a varying and playful design.
